A Family Landscape Business

In 1988, Hilgersom Paving Stone and Landscaping officially formed.  It had very humble beginnings with Gerry Hilgersom and his wife, Joanne, doing most of the work using nothing more than shovels, wheelbarrows, and sheer determination.

When Gerry immigrated to Canada from Holland, he brought with him the Dutch’s love for plants and gardens and applied it to the landscapes of countless southern Alberta properties.  It is still common to see Gerry and Joanne at the Hilgersom office, helping customers and working on landscape displays.

After graduating with distinction from the Ornamental Horticulture program at Olds College in 2001, Jerry Jr. joined the family company and has since partnered with his father to grow Hilgersom Inc. to include a landscape centre that provides contractors and the DIY public with unique, quality landscape products in southeast Lethbridge.  He still enjoys getting his hands dirty with the installation crew and gets great satisfaction as many of his designs come to life.

Over the years, Hilgersom Inc. has grown, but they still take pride in every job they do and every product that they sell.

It is still as important today as it was 30 years ago to provide a very professional level of service that feels personable, and to maintain their philosophy of quality above everything else.
